EVENT A: SAS SHOE FACTORY, MARKET SQUARE & GROUP LUNCHEON

Thursday, November 6th (8:30am-2:30pm)

Your day begins at San Antonio’s SAS Shoe Factory.  You’ve heard of ‘em, you’ve seen ‘em, you may even have a few pairs of these famous SAS Shoes.  You’ll tour the original factory and the lowest priced SAS Store in the country. You’ll save a bundle on comfortable shoes, and are sure to find something in the General Store which still sells soda & popcorn for 15 cents! Then visit the Market Square, an area that truly reflects the flavor that has always been San Antonio.  This colorful area offers a variety of shops and restaurants which line the pedestrian plazas with a three-square block area. Upon arrival, you will have time to explore some of the shops on your own, before you meet your friends for 1:00pm lunch at Mi Tierra Café & Bakery.  Mi Tierra (which means My Land) opened in 1943, and has never closed its doors; the restaurant is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Mexican food, an authentic Mexican bakery and peppy mariachi music have been the mainstays here ever since

EVENT B: GROUP DINNER & SHOW AT THE RANCH

Thursday, November 6th (5:30pm-9:30pm)

Put on your boots, we’re headin’ for a rootin’, tootin’ good time! Experience Texas from the moment you step off the coach and are greeted by the resident fiddler, who will entertain with some old time Texas favorites. After a stop at the Cantina to grab a cold drink (cash bar also available), hop on a hay wagon for a ride through this working longhorn cattle ranch. The ranch is located on the banks of the Cibolo Creek with majestic pecan orchards and low rolling hills of the Cibolo Valley. Stopping at the Rodeo Arena, you will have a chance to feed field pellets to the longhorns and/or llamas. Don't forget your camera on this stop! Then it’s back to the coral for a traditional chuck wagon supper of smoked brisket, sausage or turkey breast, BBQ sauce, pinto beans, potato salad and delicious homemade drop-biscuits. Afterwards, gather around the open fire pits and enjoy fruit cobbler and ice cream as a Texas historian and storyteller, armed with his flintlock rifle, tells amusing tales of the Alamo and the Texas Revolution. This 1860’s Texas cowboy will tell you, and show you what it was really like trailing Longhorns to Kansas and beyond.  This little bit of Texas is an experience you will remember for a lifetime.
