Welcome to Oconomowoc

Nestled in the heart of lake country, Oconomowoc has a natural beauty that shines year round.  Once known as the "Newport of the West”, Oconomowoc’s great beauty lured families of wealth from Chicago, St. Louis and Milwaukee, many of whom developed lavish lakeside mansions.  Today, the summer mansions have become year-round homes and the downtown of the late 19th century remains largely intact, providing a wonderful snapshot of the grandeur of yesterday.  The 2010 USS Wisconsin Reunion will provide many opportunities to experience Oconomowoc and the surrounding areas.  Don’t miss the early bird tour to the Milwaukee Public Market for a tour and dinner featuring a menu of Wisconsin’s finest foods.  The tour to the Breweries, Harley Davidson Museum, and the Pabst Mansion will give you an inside look at Milwaukee, past and present.  The Recruit Graduation will be a wonderful experience and provide the opportunity to tour the Great Lakes Naval Base.  There will be many opportunities to spend time with your friends and family.  This is going to be a great reunion in a great city.  Don’t miss it!

Hotel Information

The reunion officially runs from Tuesday, September 7^th through Sunday, September 12^th.  You will be staying at the full service Olympia Resort & Conference Center, located at 1350 Royale Mile Road, Oconomowoc, WI 53066.

The room rate is just $102.00 plus tax per night, based on 1 or 2 people per room.  (3 people per room the rate is $107.00 per night; 4 people per room the rate is $112.00 per night.)  For those of you who choose to arrive early or stay late, the same room rate is available three days prior and three days after, based on availability.  Please make your hotel reservations NOW by calling the hotel directly at 800-558-9573 between 9-4 pm CST.  It is very important you mention that you are with the USS Wisconsin Reunion to assure you are associated with your group, and receive the reunion rate.  You may request specific room types when you call to make your reservations (handicap accessible room, etc.).  The hotel check-in time is 3:00pm.  Please, don’t expect to get into your room before then.  Make your reservations today; you can cancel up to 48 hours prior to arrival without penalty.  They will ask you for a deposit or credit card number to guarantee your room reservation.  The hotel is holding a limited number of rooms until they sell out or July 30^th, 2010, whichever comes first.  Don’t delay!

Transportation & Directions

The closest airport is Milwaukee International (MKE).  For those of you driving to the reunion, the hotel offers complimentary self parking.  Contact the hotel directly if you need specific driving directions.
